Solar Panels for Businesses

The short answer is yes!

The long answer is while Ireland does have a fair amount of rain, solar PV systems generate electricity in daylight and still function effectively on overcast days. JFW Renewables will ensure your solar PV is properly located to maximise your Solar PV Generation.

A 3KW system should generate approx. 2600kWh of electricity per year. Larger systems, like those designed for businesses, will generate substantially more.

Solar PV has never been more affordable. The cost of your solar installation will depend on the amount of electricity you consume, your electrical consumption habits, how much of your consumption you can offset and the structure and type of roof you have. Many other factors come into play too.

As a result the cost of a commercial solar panel system varies by business. To find out exactly how much it costs you to install a commercial solar PV system, simply complete the form above for a tailored estimate.

In short, it depends. The exact duration varies from business to business. Factors such as the type of system, number of panels, building size, roof type, etc. all impact installation duration.

For some context, a small commercial solar installation can take roughly the same amount of time as it does for a typical domestic installation – these can take no more than a day with minimum disruption.

Our skilled team of fully qualified roofers will install the mounting system on the roof, then the panels to the mounting system. Our Electricians, depending on the system design, will then connect the cables from the panels to the shutdown device, from here the cables are wired to the inverter, where the power is transformed from DC into AC. At this point, the A/C power is then fed to the fuse board.

Larger projects can take longer to complete. However, an increase in manpower can reduce the duration.

We can work with you on timelines and provide a more accurate estimation of duration. Complete the form above to see how long it’d take to get your businesses running on clean energy.

Businesses can avail of a government grant of up to €162,600.

The specific grant amount you receive is determined by the standard output of your solar PV system.

The larger the system, the larger the grant value (up to a max of €162,600).

For example, a 15kWp system may have a grant value of €5,100. The grant value for a 100kWp system may be €22,600, while a 1000kWp system may reach the maximum grant value of €162,600.

More details on grants for businesses can be found on seai.ie.

Alternatively, speak to us today to see what grant value you can expect based on your business’ solar requirements.

The SEAI grant is available to businesses, schools, non-profit societies, the agricultural sector, public bodies and community centres.

However, certain conditions must be met in order to qualify for the grant.

For example:

• You must appoint a Registered SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen (Solar PV) Company, such as JFW Renewables.
• The system, like those designed and installed by JFW Renewables, must meet the requirements defined in the Non-Domestic Microgen Scheme Code of Practice.
• The premises must have been built and occupied on or before 31st Dec 2020.
